Job Description

Customs & APDP Analyst My client from an automotive industry is seeking a Customs & APDP Analyst to join their team based in Port Elizabeth. Duties: • Preparation of Own Imports Valuation and C1’s for locally manufactured vehicles, including audit of BOM explosions and parts classified as consumables in SAP • Review of forex in local supplier reports • Maintain Customs Rates and Export SAD 500 Registration dates in SAP • Preparation of clearing instructions • Valuation of Returnable Steel Cases • Management of customs adjustments to declarations • Attending Customs Stops/Examinations without Prejudice (EWOP) • Application of ITAC permits and management of Permit Usage Report • Maintenance of Customs Broker Logs (Related parties, remanufactured parts etc) • Management of Diplomat and Disabled Units • Review of No Charge Exports for possible assists • Management of Non-Standard Imports (eg Used Tooling, Machinery, Prototypes) • Maintain SUP Bond Store registers and reconciliation with Customs Broker System • Preparation of monthly reporting metrics, including IT14SD Customs data reconciliation • Management of duty and environmental levy refunds including the co-ordination of CO2 Refund docs • Management of temporary exports (DA65) • Data extraction and analysis for section 538 claims • Audit of customs clearances, UCR and PRD ex works to FOB to ensure compliance • Audit of Truck Rebate Register and arranging Truck material destructions (matching B/E, inspection, clearance) • BLNS Exports – Printing of invoices and compiling addendum to comply with export invoice requirements Obtaining monthly freight rates. Obtaining CO2 and Tyre Weights. Printing Freight Letter and CO2 Letter • Analysis of Penalties and co-ordination of SARS requests for documents • Investigation of any Customs IT related issues: ( ie messaging, reporting,) and file A reconciliations • Preparation and submission of the DA 55 if applicable (Customs and Excise Valuation questionnaire) • Support an effective internal control environment - BMS procedures Requirements: • 5 years of experience in customs and excise functions in a large manufacturing business. Commerce degree preferable but not a prerequisite • Excellent understanding and knowledge of customs and excise legislation. Well-developed customs knowledge that impact the company. Working knowledge of APDP programme/guidelines • Experience in developing internal control frameworks and internal control design. • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and Systems knowledge (including SAP) • Problem solving/Analytical Skills.
