An International client within the FMCG industry requires a Country Buyer who will report to the Finance Director and who will be based in Durban. The buyer is responsible for actively participating in the strategic sourcing activities for the Sub Saharan Africa business unit with the goal of achieving significant initial cost reductions, while maintaining and improving product quality and vendor service levels. Key Duties: Capture real savings for the organisation. Vendor selection and negotiation process. Monitors performances of vendors and the compliance with guidelines. Implement sourcing strategies for key spend categories. Track performance within each spend category and define budgetary impact. Monitor strategy implementation and contract compliance. Drive best practices. Provide assistance to acquisition strategies by completing due diligence and integration activities for spend. Uphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws.
