St Benedict’s is an Independent Catholic School which seeks to provide a holistic education for boys through full participation in spiritual, academic, sporting, creative and cultural activities. The Board of Governors invites applications for the following post in the Junior Preparatory School.
Hold a suitable qualification in Music e.g B. Mus, and preferably a PGCE or equivalent
Experience teaching music in a primary school environment would be an advantage
The ability to teach music creatively and actively to Junior Preparatory pupils
Piano skills are essential
Enthusiasm to run the Junior Preparatory Choir and the percussion groups
The ability to arrange music using notational software programmes
The ability to manage and set-up audio-visual equipment
The ability to teach wind, string or brass instruments would be an advantage
Must be able to work as a part of a team
An understanding and affinity for the Christian music tradition
Be willing to participate in the Catholic Ethos of the School
Must be SACE Registered
Shortlisted candidates may be asked to perform an audition and/or teach a lesson.
