Preparatory School Swimming Coach/Physical Education Teacher. Commencement Date: September 2018 (Negotiable)
Redhill School is looking to employ a Swimming Coach/Physical Education Teacher, to join our Physical Education Department, who can coach/teach students of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills and techniques. The successful candidate should also be able to train and develop competitive swimmers. The ability to coach/teach an additional (winter) sport will be an advantage. This position will report to the Campus Deputy Co Curricular Activities and to the Head of Swimming.
The successful candidate will have the following job duties:
Coach/teach learn to swim classes as well as individual and group sessions
Plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of the swimmers
Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques
Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance
Make sure safety standards are followed
Organise and supervise assistants and helpers if required
Keep a check on the physical condition and mental attitude of your swimmers
Support your swimmers by attending events and competitions
Keep up-to-date on developments in swimming coaching/teaching.
A level 2 swimming certificate
Excellent communication skills
A calm and professional approach to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers
The ability to encourage people and put them at ease
Perseverance and patience
Self-motivated with the ability to work with the minimum of supervision
A commitment to swimming participation for all
Sound organisational skills including use of scheme of work session plans
Ability to assess and report achievement
