Educator: Tourism (Grade 11 – 12) and Geography (Grade 8 – 10)
Bishop Bavin School, opened in January 1991, is a co-educational, Anglican day and boarding school in Bedfordview, Johannesburg. We are situated on magnificent grounds with excellent facilities. We cater for children from Crèche through to Grade 12. There is a rich diversity of both learners and teachers, with significant international status. Commencement date: January 2019.
The following are the minimum requirements for consideration for the post:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree and appropriate professional qualification
A minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Tourism at Grade 12 level and Geography in Grade 8 to Grade 10
Planning and organisation of hands-on activities that encourage active learner participation, involvement and team work
Organisation and participation in field trips
Proof of registration with SACE
An established track record and respected in the education field and a strong team player
It would be advantageous if the candidate has:
Experience in the independent school sector and knowledge of the IEB assessment criteria
Experience in the use and integration of technology in the classroom
Sound financial and administrative skills
Is a South African citizen
Has an appreciation for the traditions and Anglican ethos of the school.
