A rare opportunity exists for a senior primary teacher to join the staff of this Anglican School, set on a rambling estate in Sandton, from January 2019. Candidates should meet the following criteria.
They should have:
Sound knowledge and understanding of core subjects including English, Mathematics and Social Sciences.
A progressive understanding of current educational trends, especially in the area of personalised learning, teaching and assessment.
Capacity to develop and sustain new, innovative, inquiry-based learning and student-centred teaching ideas.
A willingness to collaborate as part of team and team teach if required.
A proven ability to show flexibility and adaptability in line with best practice in education and the learning philosophy adopted at St Peter’s.
An ability to relate to girls and provide them with opportunities to grow into confident future leaders, creative thinkers and risk-taking innovators.
A commitment to ongoing personal development and a future-orientated approach.
Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a problem-solving approach.
A proven academic record in an IEB school would be a distinct advantage.
The intention to work according to the school’s ethos, specifications and policies.
A willingness to work with and mentor Interns.
