A rare opportunity exists for a Chess Coach to join the staff of this Anglican School, set on a rambling estate in Sandton, from September 2018.

Candidates should meet the following criteria.
Knowledge of the rules and game of chess
Previous experience as a coach
Participant on a chess team is preferable
Successful experience working with primary school pupils
Excellent organisational ability
Ability to establish and maintain co-operative and effective working relationships with pupils, parents, staff and community members
Effective communication skills
Ability to encourage girls to develop their chess playing skills
Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:
Develop opportunities for pupils interested in the game of chess
Supervise chess activities
Accompany pupils to chess matches
Establish, promote and monitor team goals
Manage chess team budget
Plan and co-ordinate all team practices and competitions
Report to work on a regular and punctual basis
