This is a full-time and permanent post, commencing in January 2019. The post has the possibility of also being a Head of Department position, depending on applicants’ qualifications, experience and interest in management.

Your role as music teacher will include:
teaching Grade 4-7 class music
be involved with the School Choirs and Ensembles
take on the role of Musical Director of Senior Primary school productions
lead Hymn Practice and play the piano at school assemblies
working closely with the Expressive Arts Department (the Drama and Art teachers)
be involved in private instrumental teaching
be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills
co-ordinate and liaise with peripatetic music staff
the administration required for music examinations, eisteddfods etc.
The potential role as Head of Department will include:
academic co-ordinator for Music, Art and Drama
representing the Expressive Arts Department at School Management level and Parent Association meetings
driving the vision and requirements of the Department
understanding, identifying and contributing to the ethos and values of Clifton
organising Expressive Arts events to showcase the Department
being involved in calendar planning, strategic planning, academic and co-curricular timetabling, departmental budgeting, operational decisions
managing the peripatetic music staff and act as liaison between them and Clifton staff, children and parents
being responsible for the maintenance and of instruments and equipment
