Science Specialist Teacher
The Girls’ Preparatory is looking to employ a Natural Science teacher who is experienced in designing and delivering an integrated STEAM curriculum and is driven to champion STEAM education for girls. We seek a dynamic, responsive, innovative and highly creative team-player to collaborate with colleagues across learning areas. The ideal candidate will have had experience in using Inquiry Based Learning and have a thorough grasp of the metacognitive, pedagogical, and practical requirements of design thinking and problem-based learning.

The requirements for this position are:
A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience
A relevant teaching qualification from a recognised institution
Experience in teaching Natural Science at Grade 7 level or above
Excellent all round knowledge of Natural Science with a passion for the subject
Experience in developing learning and teaching material and assessment practices according to IEB requirements would be a distinct advantage
International teaching experience across a variety of curricula would be a significant consideration
Proficiency in working with iOS educational applications, and experience in effectively integrating iPad-based activities into teaching and learning, would be advantageous
Proof of registration with SACE
A commitment to on-going personal and professional development
An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach
Proof of a sexual offender’s clearance certificate.
