Cape Mental Health seeks to employ a Fundraiser, to be based in Cape Town.
This is a 12 months’ contract post. The contract may be renewed or become permanent subject to the performance and needs of the organisation at the time.
A relevant tertiary qualification
Minimum of three years’ successful fundraising experience and good references
Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, (Excel and PowerPoint)
Proven ability to source, nurture and manage fundraising opportunities
Proven experience in writing proposals and corresponding funding reports (examples of prior fundraising proposals / appeals will be requested)
Experience in database management and in online fundraising
In possession of a valid manual Code 8 driver’s license (own transport a recommendation)
Respect diversity and understand the challenges facing NGOs
Ability to research and identify prospective funders (trusts, foundations, corporates, etc.)
Take full responsibility for donor liaison and contractual requirements
Anticipate project needs, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines
Interpret and compile budgets and financial reports
Function as a member of a team, yet operate independently and responsibly
Pay attention to detail, be target-driven, and have time-management skills
Display accountability to all stakeholders
Be professional in manner, appearance and work ethic
