Due to possible internal changes, St Peter’s Prep Schools may have a vacancy for a Senior Human Resource Manager to join our team from April 2019. We are inviting a show of interest, but reserve the right to not make an appointment.
The following EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION(S) ARE ESSENTIAL:
A postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management
7 to 10 years’ generalist experience with at least 3 years as a senior HR Manager/ HR Lead, within a knowledge-worker based organisation.
Proven experience in managing a team, developing and implementing talent, performance and remuneration strategies
Human Resource Management Strategy including contemporary thought leadership
Change and project management
HR Legislation (South African labour law) & strong HR generalist knowledge
Financial interpretation, report writing skills and budget management
Passionate about growth and development within the organisation
Excellent interpersonal (Listening and negotiation skills)
Solid experience managing a payroll would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide thought leadership and direction to EXCO regarding Human Resource strategic objectives ensuring alignment and impact to strategic objectives.
Provide strategic leadership, management and advice in terms of operationalising HR goals and objectives; oversee financial budgeting, management and reporting for the HR department (including direct and indirect costs relating to all HR activities).
Develop, implement and cascade the HRM/HRD strategy and plan.
Implement systems and controls to ensure human resources data integrity and management reporting
Legislation Compliance/ Continuous Improvement: implement effective HR processes, policies and procedures to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Manage day to day labour relations within the ethos of the school and within the prescription of relevant employment law.
Manage the School’s skills development processes in line with organisational requirements and legislative imperatives.
Review, update and implement a market competitive related employee value proposition, including a supporting remuneration strategy, across employee life cycles and in line with the culture and strategic objectives.
Manage the development and implement of the employment equity plan aligned to the school’s strategic objectives.
Develop and implement a talent management strategy, including strategically aligned workforce, talent acquisition and succession plans.
