Waterkloof House Preparatory School (WHPS) (Established 1923) Invites suitable candidates to tender for the running of the
WHPS Tuck Shop
We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced person to manage and run the WHPS Tuck Shop, effective from 1 September 2019.
Fundamental requirements include, energy, initiative, good organisational and inter-personal skills, high standards of presentation and cleanliness, as well as a sound work ethic.
Post Requirements (amongst other criteria not specified):
A self-starter with a professional work ethic and strong attention to detail
Provide options for pre-order snack packs and lunch time meals for boys during the school day
Provide an appropriate pre-schooler friendly lunch and snack option for the Whippets (Grade 000 – Grade 0), the costs of this should be in line with the school’s cooked lunch option
The Tuck Shop is expected to be open daily until 16h30
The Tuck Shop is expected to be open for the duration of all sporting fixtures, festivals and events. This includes late afternoons throughout the cricket season and most Saturdays throughout the term
Provide teas and eats for parents and visiting schools during sports fixtures (this is to include fresh cut flowers, freshly brewed coffee, cakes, sandwiches and loaves)
Breakfast and cappuccinos are to be provided to sports coaches and specified guests attending weekend sports fixtures
Burgers, boerewors and Prego rolls are to be prepared and sold on sports days, in accordance with the schools requirements
Attendance at a weekly Catering and Events meeting is required
Willing to liase with and work with the relevant school staff members
Willing and able to prepare special lunches, in accordance with the schools requirements
The WHPS Tuck Shop is closed during all holiday periods
Ability to work under pressure
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
To embrace working at a school which includes school related events and have a genuine interest in the boys and their parents
Start 1 September 2019
Ability and willingness to operate a coffee and breakfast trailer to serve parents between 07h00 and 08h30 (Monday to Friday)
