Our client is a multinational FMCG company and a leader in its field.
HQ'd out of Midrand in Johannesburg for South Africa, the business has a presence on every continent and distributes world wide.
The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following duties and responsibilities based out of Durban, KZN.
Own and manage the manpower resources for the business area including planning on an annualised basis for optimised headcount management (e.g. approve open vacancies for Line Managers).
Internal resourcing - review succession plans & talent pools to check for internal candidates. Work with HR colleagues in Africa and globally to source and activate global candidates for roles.
Be involved in internal interviewing discussions as appropriate (e.g. key roles) and ensure there is a strong line manager capability to deliver this.
Conduct interviews and document outcomes for pre-screened external candidates when required
Working with the Talent Manager/Director to ensure we build external talent pipeline in line with our resourcing plans.
Works with Africa/Functional Talent Leads & in market Talent Delivery team to define graduate/early career requirements and feed in market needs and requirements to Global (based on alignment conversations locally with functional leadership teams in the market).
Talent and Learning & Development
Works with the business area to identify and build talent
Contributes to the In Market PTR, conducts effective calibration sessions and ensures a joined up approach with the Functional Talent & OE HR Leads
Owner of local functional Succession Plans
Communicates and embeds career development frameworks and supports individuals coaching
Monitors, audits, builds capability for deployment and embedding of, coaches line managers on performance management and performs calibration
Academy - ensures business area is using the Academy as the core learning platform.
Ensure that we manage the IA investment in the business area to ensure that we are clear on where we utilise these; what happens to the individual beyond the assignment; how we will replace the role with a local individual.
Conducts exit interviews where face to face required
Reward & Recognition Programmes - identify any workforce specific requirements and work with Reward Manager for expertise and advise in development and implementation
Embed annual reward programs and manage local compliance process and timelines.
Actively coaching line managers and employees to ensure there is full understanding of total reward package.
Understand internal & external parameters/benchmarks on pay/grading and use this to make effective decisions. Participate as appropriate on grading panels, etc.
Diagnose the need for reward interventions in their business area.
Role grading and benchmarking all roles in the Business
Lead on union negotiations, trade disputes and collective agreements with recognized bodies, including preparatory work
Oversee interviews and investigations on ER issues, complaints, and grievances, connecting with Service Delivery to ensure proper case management and record keeping.
Responsible for connecting & supporting appropriate employee forums & representatives.
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will possess the following skills and expertise
Relevant Tertiary qualification
Experience working for a multinational Manufacturing organisation
Strong Experience with Industrial relations, internal relations, labour relations, CCMA
Well spoke and good written communication skills.
